User Roles

These roles can be assigned to users from the Viafoura Admin console.

Role Privileges

Trusted User

  • Allow user’s comments to be approved without Moderation.

Moderator (Site Moderator)

  • Can disable, approve and promote content.
  • Examples of content promotion is assigning Editor’s pick and Pin comments.
  • Can access and update VF experience settings in front-end.
  • Has access to VF Admin Moderation Console specifically for the site they are a Moderator of.

Client Moderator

  • Same permissions as a Moderator but have access to all sites within the client account.

Administrator (Site Administrator)

  • Can disable, approve, promote content, view analytics and change site settings.
  • Examples of content promotion is assigning Editor’s pick and Pin comments.
  • Can access and update VF experience settings in front-end.
  • Has access to VF Admin Moderation console specifically for the site they are an Admin of.
  • Can access the site their admin profile was created for
  • Can generate syndication keys from any front-end experience.
  • Promote a user to Moderator or Administrator

Client Administrator

  • Same permissions as an Administrator but have access to all sites within the client account.

Assigning Roles

For Site Level Roles such as Trusted User, Moderator and Administrator, you can search for the user under the Users tab in Admin Console and click the corresponding option. Please note that the user must register for an account on the site and at least published 1 comment before they can be promoted.

If the user has registered for an account but didn’t publish any comment, you might not see the user account when you search for it.

Once a Moderator or Administrator is promoted, an email verification will be sent confirming that the user has been promoted.
